Making time for yourself
Who has time for themselves? There is laundry to be done, dinner to be made, homework, dishes… the list can end up to be a mile long on some days.
That’s where it becomes easy. We all make lists in some way shape or form, on our phone, apps, through reminders, or telling someone to not let you forget. Make yourself number one on the list.
Find what you love
For some, it’s working out, others, others it could be playing an instrument or painting. For you, it could be reading or socializing. Whatever it is, choose an amount of time that is realistic. If 15 minutes is all there is, so be it. As you start to invest in yourself, you will realize how great it feels, and choose to make more time. It’s only natural.
Why is it so important?
The majority of the population will always think of someone else before themselves. It’s as simple as this, you can’t pour from an empty cup. If you don’t do something you love at some point in the day, and there is no payoff, life will become a bit overwhelming. Stress happens when we have no way to release it. When you put yourself first, even for a few minutes, you will avoid the inevitable; feeling resentment for everything you do, for everyone else.
